Who Are Adventure Dogs?

Adventure Dogs are a family run business, based in Cwmbran South Wales, that aim to always put the needs of your dog first. We understand that your dog is a much-loved member of the family and should be treated as such. As all dogs are individuals with their own personalities, like people, each dog’s motivation to training will be different.

We understand how long the journey can be when it comes to training a dog. The time, effort, and persistence required can sometimes be too much. So, we incorporate basic training into our walks.

We aim to be professional, reliable and trustworthy with your dog. Which means; when your dog is in our care, they are treated as if one of our own.

We are fully insured to transport your dog and walk your dog. All our dog walker’s undergo dog specific first aid training.

“Hi my name is Sarah. And I’m a great lover of everything outdoors. I have spent my summers through the ages of 16 – 20 working with children through play scheme and various outdoor education companies. I loved seeing how much the great outdoors brought enjoyment and freedom to the children I was instructing. The thing I took the most pride in was seeing the kids who lacked confidence come out of their shell because someone took the time to do things at their pace and provide encouragement and support. The smiles they left with were priceless!

Since graduating University, I was going to take the leap into teaching. However, I didn’t want to be restricted by 4 walls and decided to follow my other love of animals and combine this with my passion for the outdoors.
I spent my teenage years volunteering for Guide Dogs and have assisted in the training of over 20 now qualified dogs.”

Sky

The Adventure Dog

Adventure Dogs - Sky, The Adventure Dog. A German Shepherd Dog Bitch.
Sky is a German Shepherd and is dog reactive. When she was young, she was attacked by other dogs which taught her to cause a scene whenever a new dog rushes to approach her. Walks became stressful and un-enjoyable. She could no longer enjoy the fun of an off-lead walk.

However, with time, patience, persistence, and the right training, we were able to turn things around. Sky is now happy to pass another dog, with minimal issues. She can now be let her off the lead and interact with selected dogs that have been introduced to her following her training. Is Sky cured of her reactivity? No.  However, thanks to her training, walks are now more enjoyable and less stressful for both Sky, and her family. It is because of Sky, that Adventure Dogs began. We wanted to provide a service for those going through similar experiences. To be the person you can trust to assist you along your journey into building a better relationship between you and your furry friend.
